Wildwaters Lodge is reached from the west bank of the Nile, 3km east of Kangulumira Town on the quiet tarmac Kayunga Road that loops around Mabira Forest.

Directions to Wildwaters Lodge

Via Jinja Rd:

Turn left at Nile Breweries.  Travel for 26 kms on this road (passing Nile Horseback safaris and The Haven), till you get to the town on Kangulamira.  Turn right just before the Petrocity Service Station.  Travel 3 kms on this murram road (straight through round about in town) till you get to a metal fence and gate on left hand side.  Wildwaters Lodge Guard will let you in and direct you to parking. He will radio the lodge to send a boat.

Via Gayaza / Kayunga Rd:

This is our preferred route as there are less traffic and its very scenic and slightly shorter than coming via Jinja.  If you haven’t come this way before it can be easier to come on the Jinja Road and return on the Gayaza Road.

To get to Gayaza Road from Kampala centre travel to Ntinda and turn left past the Ndere Troup at main junction.  You reach the Northern bypass round about.  Take the 2nd exit (it has a huge sign with some famous footballer on it advertising Kensington Villas housing estate).  At the t-junction turn right moving past Moonberg Breweries.  Travel along this road till you get to a junction at Kayunga town.  TURN RIGHT TOWARDS JINJA (new sign post: 20km to Wildwaters Lodge).  Travel past Nzigo village till you get to KANGULAMIRA.  Turn left just after Petrocity Petrol Station (at new sign post).  Travel 3kms along murram road till you get to metal fence and gate on left.  Wildwaters guard will let you in and direct you to the boat.

We now have a sign at the Kayunga turnoff (one sided with an arrow and distance of 20km)and at Kangulumira. (double sided with arrows showing 3 Km). Both blue with black writing. More signs are coming up.
